MindCheck is a movement to make mental health screenings a standard for every high school student, because early support saves lives.
Raise awareness about youth mental health, share our proposal for early mental health screenings in high schools, connect with supporters and school leaders, and grow the MindCheck movement nationally.
MindCheck is a grassroots movement led by parents, paramedics, educators, and advocates who believe mental health screenings should be a basic part of high school readiness. We’ve seen the cost of silence—lost students, grieving families, and too many warning signs missed.
Founded by Amy Vu, a paramedic and mother of three, MindCheck was created in response to the rising mental health crisis facing teens today. After witnessing preventable tragedies in the field and losing a fellow EMS partner to suicide, Amy decided it was time to act.
Our mission is simple: check in before it’s too late.
We advocate for early, confidential screenings that give students a lifeline—not a label.
MindCheck is not just a proposal. It’s a call to action.
We're working to pilot MindCheck in Palm Beach County schools.
MindCheck has been formally submitted to SAMHSA for federal support and funding.
We've contacting the Florida Department of Education, NAMI, and school boards to gain statewide support
We’re building community support through social media, press outreach, and a grassroots movement.
